Deadbolt is currently accepting new projects!
Welcome to the online home of Deadbolt (formerly Griffin Webworks), a one-man design studio located in Portland, Oregon. Chris Griffin specializes in designing clean & unique interfaces, including everything from web applications to blogs.
Consulting is offered for interface design, interface development, and blog design & integration.
The Loop is a new Apple publication started by veteran technology writer Jim Dalrymple. Jim has followed Apple for 15 years and has written for publications such as MacCentral, Macworld, & CNET to name a few. In 2009, he decided to put his knowledge and experience to use under his own banner, The Loop, writing about Apple and the tech market in general. The Wordpress theme was conceptualized, designed, and developed by Deadbolt.
Chrisgriffin.org is the blog of Deadbolt’s principal, Chris Griffin. Formerly known as chriszgriffin.com, this is the 4th version of Chris’ blog where he writes about topics ranging from design to technology. The custom Wordpress theme was conceptualized, designed and developed by Chris Griffin.
RubyURL started out as a side-project of Robby Russell, a founder of Planet Argon. RubyURL is very simple app that allows you to input long URLs and condense them into short URLs. This serves many uses, but is mostly utilized for Twitter, where one has a limited 140 character count per “tweet”. Interface design and interface development was handled by Chris, Robby handled the back-end development.
Photo in a Haystack is the photography portfolio of selected works by Allyn Mejia. Allyn, born and raised in Los Angeles, has been an avid photographer since the young age of 8. Deadbolt provided the visual design and HTML/CSS for the website. The photo slideshow and photo management administration system by SlideShowPro was procured and installed by Deadbolt to allow Allyn to easily upload and manage the photos herself.
Boxcar is a deployment environment streamlined for Ruby on Rails applications and can serve as a VPS hosting platform for any language that can run on a Linux server. During Chris's tenure as interface designer at Planet Argon, he designed the Boxcar logo along with the first version of the Boxcar website. The first version of the website served as a teaser before Rails Boxcar deployment and hosting solutions launched in 2007.
If you would like to chat about how we can work together, please email me at hello@deadboltdesign.com. Please include all pertinent information about the project including possible schedule, budget, and technical requirements.
Deadbolt (formerly Griffin Webworks) was founded by Chris Griffin in 2003. In its Griffin Webworks days, it mostly served as a portfolio website to show off Chris’s work. With the shiny new name, Deadbolt now focuses on helping people realize their goals of creating usable experiences with a touch of style.
